Summer 2021 Recreation

This summer as we emerge from months of staying in, we may be overwhelmed by the many choices of places to go with the family before schools start again in the fall! We’ve compiled some suggestions of places to visit in Northern Virginia and DC that may make your staycation or weekend a little more exciting!

Sports Happenings On television for nights in at home - there is soccer - Copa America - a tournament (printable schedule here) of countries in South America (June 13th - July 10th), the European Football Championship (UEFA) - soccer competition (see printable schedule here) made up of mostly European countries (June 11- July 11), and we are only weeks away from the Summer Olympics (July 23 - August 8)(printable schedule here)!

Van Gogh exhibit - Tickets Available for September - Washington DC - interactive exhibit with the artist's work illuminated. 

Around the World Cultural Food Festival - Saturday, July 31, Alexandria, VA - vendors with foods from around the world, outdoor event.

Trampoline Park - Sky Zone, Springfield, VA - Ideal for birthdays and on days when it’s too hot to stay indoors!

Meadowlark Botanic Garden, Vienna, VA - Butterfly exhibit, native plants, sculptures, hiking on nearby trails - steps away from the W&OD trail in Vienna.

Skateland Roller Rink, Mosaic District, Fairfax, VA - (June 26 - September 12th) - Retro style roller skating rink with skate rental available and disco tunes outdoors.
